So Long for Now, Jurl

For my Aunt Elaine.....

Yesterday we traveled this road together.
Today you have made it to our destination.
Yesterday you baked our favorite cake.
Today we follow your recipe.
Yesterday you went fishing.
Today you are with the Fisher of Men.
Yesterday you laughed.
Today you sing.
Yesterday you worked.
Today you rest.
Yesterday you cried.
Today you rejoice.
Yesterday you raised three daughters.
Today you are in their smile, their walk, and their heart.
Yesterday you held your grandbabies.
Today you keep watch over them.
Yesterday you loved a man.
Today you wait for the one you love.
Yesterday you went to church and prayed.
Today you sit at His feet and shout "Hallelujah!"
Yesterday you packed a lunch.
Today you know no hunger.
Yesterday you sat with friends.
Today you sit with God.
Yesterday we loved you so.
Today we love you still.

Today we must keep traveling on this road.
Tomorrow we will meet you at our destination.
Today we cry.
Tomorrow we dance.
Today we wonder "why?"
Tomorrow we will know the answer.
Today our hearts break.
Tomorrow we will heal.
Today we pray to Jesus.
Tomorrow we will meet Him.
Today we miss you.
Tomorrow we will see you.

So long for today. So long until tomorrow. We love you always.
