Idols, Stars, and Jurls

Another night of American Idol performances and another night of boring Snoresha, Yak tongue Archuletta, and smarmy David Cook. Last night there were three rounds: song chosen by judges; song chosen by contestant, and song chosen by producers.

Round one- Paula chose "And So It Goes.." by Billy Joel for Yakky. He did a nice job, but that tongue is still getting in the way. Randy chose for Syesha an Alicia Keys tune, "If I Ain't Got You", and she sang it pretty decently. I'm with Simon though, it was good, but not that exciting. Simon chose "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" by Roberta Flack for David Cook. Gotta say it gave me chills. Cook started out slow, but tore it up by the end. Loved it.

Round Two (or the Titanic Round)- Archuleta (or perhaps his psycho father) chose "With You" by Chris Brown. Oh. My. God. This was a truly painful moment. He kind of danced/bounced/funky chickened around the stage while singing a tune not meant for an uptight little boy with a swollen tongue and, apparently, a lung condition because he panted all the way through the song. Horrible. Terrible. Frightening.

Syesha chose "Fever" by Peggy Lee. I'll admit I liked her performance, I thought she sang it well and showed a lot of personality, but I will agree with the judges, who totally skunked it, that "Fever" might not have been the right song choice for the finals. Syesha's inability to make good song choices may have finally caught up with her. Gotta say, last night I was actually warming up to the little thing.

Cook chose "Dare You to Move" by Switchfoot. ZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Judges weren't that impressed with any one's song choices or performances.

Round Three: Archuleta was given "Longer" by Dan Fogelberg (a fave of mine) and he was passable. That's too much song for someone so young. Simon slammed the song itself and I say to him, "You go to hell, limey. Dan Fogelberg is a song writing genius!!!"

Syesha was forced to sing "Hit Me Up..." by Gia Farrell. She looked uncomfortable, but then again Simon had just called her "Fever" performance a "lame cabaret act" so I'm sure it was hard to come back out there and sing a song from Happy Feet.

Cook was given the Aerosmith classic, "Don't Wanna Miss a Thing" and he did a pretty good job. Simon said he won the night and I have to agree with that assessment.

I predict we've seen the last of Syesha, though I must say I'd rather her win than Scooter Yak Tongue Crazy Dad Archuleta. I'm putting all my psychic energy behind David Cook who I'm confident will take the win and first place in smarminess.

Also, Ryan did it again! He palmed some young girl's head in the audience. WTF. He is sick.

Last night was also the Results show for Dancing With the Stars (we use that term loosely) and the little chubbette got the boot. All I can say is "Thank you Jesus that Jason Taylor stays on to light my fire for another week!" Have I mentioned how hot he is and how I want to lick his bald head clean? He almost, almost, makes up for Max not being on the show this season (but, he'll be back next time!). DWS is my soft porn and I will surely miss it.....until it returns in three weeks for the 95th season.

I agree with all of your comments re: AmId EXCEPT that I didn't think "Dare you to Move" was totally zzzzz... only partially zzzz. I wanted him to do more with it, it was just too slow and never got off the ground. What about Baby Davey using the term "boo"? BLECH! Read www.televisionwithoutpity.com's blog for their comment on what it actually Baby Davey's "boo". I laughed out loud. Poor Snoreesha just can't get the job done- she does fine and I liked "Come Hit Me Up" pretty well, but....nothing. Just nothing. Every week. Cookie must win, b/c Archu-D2 grosses me out. That Dan Fogleberg song is THE BEST, BTW, I would rather hear JC Dreadz singing it, though. I missed my boy this week! And in a strange 180, I used to think David Cook was a dog, but now I'm finding him more and more sexy each week. I'm becoming a Cookie Monster.

Jason Taylor- YUM. He is one fine, tall, bald man specimen. Luv him.

Did you see that the Brit Bach chose Lorenzo Lamas's skanky dumb ass daughter as his Bachelorette on Monday night? I gave him more credit than that, but then again his choices were not all that impressive. Perhaps he just wants to get some blond lovin' stateside, then he will head home to Merry Olde England to marry the plain faced but rich and royal Duchess that his mummy arranged his marriage with before he was even born.

Yeah, him singing "boo" was both hilarious and vomit inducing. that's Lorenzo's daughter?! I saw the on Ellen and I kind of got the impression she's mildly retarded. Yes, he'll get his kicks then head back to marry a horsey, but well mannered lady of the manor.
